Joann Fegley, MBA, MS in Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology, has joined my team as a Certified Personal Trainer, offering custom fitness after Cancer diagnosis or injury. She will be hosting individual and small-group classes.
Joann excels in creating customized programs geared towards helping you meet your goals, whether you are regaining mobility and fitness after an injury or cancer diagnosis, improving general strength or fitness, meeting athletic performance goals, or seeking support and motivation for a healthier lifestyle. Her research based approach will keep you engaged in your workouts and reaching for more with consideration for your unique needs and body mechanics.
Joann also works at the University of Pennsylvania hospital system, empowering patients with the tools to safely and effectively exercise–in individual and group classes–during and after cancer treatment.
Oncology fitness is a rapidly growing field, as research continues to demonstrate the many benefits of exercise after a cancer diagnosis. Joann’s thesis focused on weight training with lymphedema, and since then she’s developed programming that helps all stage and diagnosis cancer survivors and thrivers to increase their long-term health and well-being through safe exercise methods.
Joann has also been a USA Dragon boat coach competing at the international level for years, a competitive sprint cyclist, and even a circus arts instructor. For more information about Joann’s training, visit her website and schedule an appointment.
